Quicksands Café and Bakery was established in 1995 to provide fresh foods and baked goods prepared on site. It was our intention to offer soups, salad dressings and entrees of a variety not available in San Antonio. We wanted to offer Vegan and Vegetarian options for our friends of that persuasion, also. 

Every day there are six fresh house-made soups including Turkey Tortilla, 2 Vegan soups, a Chicken Special soup, a cream potato soup and a meat or seafood soup. 

We make the best Caesar Salad Dressing in San Antonio and, by popular insistence, have a Mango-Strawberry-Jicama salad every day. The Chef-Owners, Craig Savage and Von Williams, pull from over 30 years experience to offer an eclectic mix of flavors and sauces in entrée specials ranging from Tilapia in a tomato caper sauce to Beef Brisket Stroganoff.  

We have designed the menu especially for our Texas summers with selections including soup, salad, and ½ sandwiches or Turkey Salad in Cantaloupe or Tuna Salad in Tomato. We also offer Hummus and Flatbread.

 Our tea selection every day is herbal (no caffeine or sugar).
